The region of La Alpujarra
Located in the heart of the Natural Park of Sierra Nevada and home of the highest mountain peaks in the Península Ibérica such as, El Mulhacén, La Alcazaba, El Veleta…. It´s a stunning place to visit because of its great natural attractions.
Villages with stony white houses, set deeply on the mountainside, form a different and diverse corner, which has kept its singular way of life and a picturesque aspect intact, heritage of andalusí legacy.
The ancient Lanjarón spa can also be visited, (in the village of Lanjarón) where you can appreciate the purity of its medicinal mineral springs and the idyllic landscape in the Natural Park of Sierra Nevada.
The course of the water falling from the stunning mountain massif of Sierra Nevada creates a landscape of contrast flooded with numerous varieties of high mountain flora and fauna and declared Biosphere Reserve by Unesco.
Apart from being an ideal destination for relaxation and rest, it also offers a wide range of activities:
- Route Gr-7. Long distance path, it connects Andalucía with the rest of Europe.
- The Alpujarras cuisine has a claim by its own, "jamón de Trevélez" D.O. High quality wines and arabic pastry are worldwide known.
- The monumental city of Granada is 98 kms. From the "El Castañar Nazarí" and Costa del Sol beaches are 65 kms.
